Hello Ottawa

Hi ya,
So we are finally back and settled in Ottawa. We had a very tough first week back. Mara had an ear infection which must have been made worse by flying. She cried for hours and hours when we got home and was completely inconsolable. It was awful. Lee and I were also working on about 4 hours sleep in 3 days. We couldn't tell if she was just adjusting and extremely jet-lagged or sick. On Monday night she was sick to her stomach and then again on Tuesday morning. She didn't have a fever or any other signs of sickness but we decided to take her to the doctor to be sure. Turns out she was quite sick. Our second week we really just spent working on SLEEP, SLEEP and more SLEEP. This is hard when your child wakes at midnight every night and is ready to go!!!

We are all doing much better now. Mara is sleeping, eating and DRINKING well!!! J She is exploring the house, yard and we have made some visits to the park and wading pool. She is getting to know her cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents and friends.

This weekend we made a visit to the cottage and it went very well.

We can't wait to see you all and visit with you very soon. We hope you are all doing well and that you had a wonderful, Labour Day weekend.
